RAM Botany Campaign
Project Overview
This imaginative project focused on creating a campaign for an exhibit at the Royal Alberta Museum (RAM) in Edmonton. I was interested in their Botany exhibit, which features many specimens. While reviewing the RAM's programs, I found no activities or promotions for the Botany exhibit. So, I created a campaign about growth that targets parents and children, presenting the exhibit as a learning experience. This campaign could help attract more visitors to the RAM as their collection expands.

Project Details
-
The campaign focused on promoting the Museum’s Botany exhibit by highlighting the benefits of shared learning experiences for parents and children. By emphasizing the importance of exploring new subjects together, the campaign aimed to foster curiosity and engagement within families. The lack of existing advertisement for the exhibit presented an opportunity to create awareness and drive foot traffic. Marketing strategies included engaging social media content, community partnerships, and family-oriented events to attract visitors and enhance their museum experience.

The campaign uses exciting illustrations to create an engaging narrative for families. By highlighting Alberta's native flowers alongside the newly constructed museum, it cultivates a connection between the natural environment and the exhibit. The use of hyperbole in illustrating the flowers emerging from the RAM adds a sense of drama that captures attention. Ultimately, this approach not only attracts families but also promotes educational opportunities in botany, fostering an appreciation for the diverse plant life in the region. Through this playful and artistic representation, the campaign seeks to encourage exploration and learning, ensuring the exhibit flourishes.

Project Reflection
This imaginative project played with the idea of designing for the magnificent Royal Alberta Museum’s botany exhibit, so it is important to note that it has no actual ties to the museum. If you’re interested in visiting the museum and exploring their collections, I recommend you check out their botany exhibit online.
Areas of Improvement
If I were to work on this project further, I would explore the ways this campaign could take shape on social media platforms, posters, or even brochure designs.
